'People are afraid' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal are now countless pundits' favorites to claim the Premier League this season.

Look at their performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace versus those identical matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have overcome all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race in the prior campaign.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's backline resilience is a primary factor why they are seeming ready to ultimately achieve their title target.

They lead the league for shutouts (6), goals conceded (3), opposition efforts (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and xGA (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is potentially the finest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their threat from set-pieces is widely recognized, but competing clubs still don't know how to stop the Gunners from these chances.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just fearful of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Credentials

What is even more notable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City on home turf - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their traditional rivals are struggling. This marks the initial occasion at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on boss Mikel Arteta at the outset, having allocated around £250m on eight summer signings in search of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the business has so far paid off in impressive fashion, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and boasting the most resilient defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three straight Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across various contests

Former players and experts have described Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now functioning with belief and purpose.
